My most favorite memory of Willie happened in the Spring of 1973. It was the first day of spring football practice at Jackson Jr. High School. Willie walked out on the field with a one bar helment. Then he commenced to kicking butt on the field. After practice, Coach Noel "Stump" Long said "We going to have to get Willie a new helmet!
