Things that are new for This Reunion.
Since this event is our 50th and so many people are coming from out of town and so many people who have not been to a reunion at all are coming, this will truly be a visit weekend event. Reality is, we do not know when we will see our childhood friends again. We have worked hard to make it extremely inviting for everyone to want to come and have fun!
Since we have so many coming in from out of town we will have a host hotel. This means we will also be able to have a hospitality suite Friday, Saturday & Sunday so classmates staying at the hotel and in town classmates can come and have a place to hang out and have refreshments. It will serve as a place to go after the Club on Saturday night! The hospitality suite will be hosted by Chris Graham but anyone who wants to add to it, they are more than welcome to bake their special goodies and bring them.
We will also have a Shuttle Bus at the hotel that will run starting at 4:30 pm on Saturday night at the hotel to take people staying at the hotel and any one in Jackson who would like to park at the hotel and take the shuttle to the Club. All are welcome to jump on board and leave their car at the hotel !! The Shuttle Bus will be running every 10 and 15 minutes as we will have 2 Shuttle buses until 10:30pm! (We will be asking for a head count to make sure we actually need 2 buses to accommodate everyone)
At the Reunion…. We will have a Photobooth…. A Crazy Karaoke Booth (New to Jackson FUN FUN FUN) and for the first hour and a half …..we will have speed visiting ….this is for classmates only ....where some will be seated and the ones across from you will be moving in a straight line every 5 minutes. Some people, you may remember right of the bat and some it may take a minute to remember. This is your chance to at least say hello to someone you may otherwise not have recognized and miss the chance to say hello and get caught up after all these years!! ….This is going to be so much fun …BUT you must RSVP to participate so we know how many chairs to have. At 6:40 pm dinner will be served!
The Bar….will Take Credit Cards….unlike before…it will NOT be a cash only bar!!!
Now, even though this is the class of JCM 50th Reunion...there are a lot of our classmates that we all grew up with that went on to graduate from other schools in Jackson in the year 1977, some moved away, and some dropped out of school all together. None the less, these are people we grew up with.... that either graduated in the year 1977 or would have...so we have also tried to locate as many of our childhood friends as possible to include them to come as well. So please feel free to locate your childhood friends and spread the word!!
After The club…The hospitality suite at the hotel will be open to continue the party for any late night partiers.
Special guests…. We decided that since we are a class like none before…and since we grew up in an era where we respected our teachers that we would invite all teachers from our elementary schools, Junior highs and JCM who are still with us to come join us for our 50th reunion to A) See how we turned out as Adults since they helped mold us into the adults we are today and 😎 To thank them and show them the appreciation for all they did for us when we were all...or some of us bad ass’s back in our youth (for some of us) (goof balls and just say thank you for teaching us and show our appreciation!. Something the teachers today do not get!
Sunday Brunch! Mary Darwin Sneed Reel is hosting a brunch at her farm on Sunday from 11:30am to 1:30pm which will be RSVP. We are working on getting a bus to take people from the host hotel to and from the farm. We know some people may elect to drive others may want to take the bus as parking is limited. More details to come. We are working on finding a church bus to help us out.
There are 2 halls when you enter the club. One hall will be for the memorial! In the hall there will be tables lined up on both sides of the walls that will have pictures of the classmates that we have lost in frames with an LED Candle. There will be fresh flowers by their frames. Soft music will play in that hall. Loved ones are welcome to come that Saturday and place anything they wish to place around their loved ones in memory of their lives.
The other hall will have tables on both sides of the walls that will house all the trophies from sports, academics, and the band that were won during our senior year. There will also be some newspaper articles blown up and put on display for all to see. And festive music that will be playing down the hall.
The program this year will be hosted by Gary Foose and Andy Hall!! It will last 30 Minutes TOPS!!! It will include all announcements, all Thanks, Opening Prayer, and Fun Trophy Giveaways (The fun trophy giveaways will be explained at later a date).
There is still PLENTY to do…if anyone wants to help out…please free to contact any one of the committee heads highlighted in yellow/italics. They will welcome you on their team with open arms!!!
The ticket money will be just for the club, not for any of the events. We have separated the funds into two categories. The actual reunion fund and the events fund. The events fund has already been taken care of by the underwriters, sponsors, and donations.
At this time we do not have any idea how much the final price of tickets will be for the dinner at the club. However, we will not need a final head count until April 5, 2026 to give to the Country Club. So please, if you plan on coming and funds may be tight, start saving some money now because we promise you won't want to miss out on this big event!
As you Arrive……there will be a RED CARPET FESTIVITIES…RED CARPET…JCM new Back drop…Photographer on hand to take Pictures>>>>AND….. greeting each of us by none other than the NEW JCM COUGAR COSTUME that will be donated to JCM after the reunion.
Committee Head structure: Committee heads may recruit members or choose to do it solo. They have been given their allocated budget. If the chairman goes over budget they are responsible for making up any shortfall. At this time all Committee Chairs have been filled.
Please make sure you are registered on our website www.jcmhs1977.com. Even if we have located you we need you to register! If you are not registered you will still show up as MIA since we have no information on you. If you have forgotten your password it can be reset. This is very important!
